Our history

In the heart of Castelló, in the charming village of Atzeneta del Maestrat, Casa Els Pardos is much more than simply rural accommodation. It is a place with history, a tribute to our roots and a place where past and present come together to offer guests an authentic and unforgettable experience.

Although today’s Casa Els Pardos does not stand on the original site, its name pays tribute to the former “Casa Els Pardos”, a modest house that, from the 19th century onwards, served as a refuge for families of masoveros from Pla de Meanes who lived from the land and their livestock beyond the Riu Montelló. With no home in the village where they could take shelter, these families pooled their efforts and resources to build this house beside the walled enclosure of Atzeneta del Maestrat.

The house offered them not only a place to rest and store provisions, but also a meeting point from which to take part in the social and religious life of the community. For many, it was a symbol of belonging and a second home where they could share joys and challenges.

Today, as descendants of one of those families, we are proud to preserve this legacy. Casa Els Pardos is not just charming rural accommodation; it is a tribute to hospitality, tradition and respect for our roots.
